Eggcellent & Easy Easter Ideas

This is a holiday when people pull out all of the stops, but that can become laborious with church services and Easter egg hunts on the agenda. Are you looking for inspiration to guide a happy and time-friendly table? Try incorporating some of your favorite local businesses and finds around the home for a fresh, yet timeless look. This season is teeming with pastels and bright colors, so don't be afraid to mix and match...you'll be surprised how it all comes together!

  • Always start with one element to guide your direction. In this case, I started with these blue and white plates from Replacements. But you can also start with a color scheme, or an item you definitely want to incorporate into your centerpiece.

  • Incorporate an unexpected feature. In this case, fresh eggs from a local farmer's co-op was an unexpected touch on the center of the table. Instead of your typical white egg, I incorporated blue and brown eggs for warmth and color.

  • Shop local when you can. These white and blue checkered runners are from Hester & Cook, the wicker (which are actually resin) bunnies were discovered by a post from Mrs. Southern Social, the table and chairs are from Please Be Seated, and the adorable yellow chick cupcakes are from Sweet Ability Bakery.

  • Pull in color. Spring screams happy from the bright colors of the season. Glassware, placemats, flowers, napkins and other decorative accessories are all great ways to add a pop.

  • Don't be afraid to incorporate newer items you bought this season. For example, the checkered runners created a big look, and the wicker bunnies were used instead of flowers to show that you don’t always have to go to the expense of purchasing or time gathering a floral centerpiece. Pro tip: The bunnies could be used all season long by switching out the ribbon, and the runners would be great for a Fouth of July party.

  • Use something old, too! Your grandmother's fine silver works perfectly with the popular blue and white trend. (We often associate blue and white with porcelain pieces, but that's not the only way to use these colors together!)

  • Include live greenery. Here I pulled Camellia tips from the backyard and sprinkled them on the table. If your backyard isn't plush with options, your local grocery store should have you covered.
